Envisioning a world where all children are honored and respected for their potential, capabilities, and humanity.

NAREA Communication and Networking

NAREA's mission statement declares that, "Our mission is to build a diverse community of advocates and educators to promote and defend the rights of children, families, and educators of all cultures through a collaboration of colleagues inspired by the philosophies and experiences of the 0-6 education project of Reggio Emilia, Italy." The organization seeks to carry out this mission, in part, through the goals of serving "as a conduit for dialogue and exchange with Reggio Children and other international organizations that promote the rights of young children" and strengthening "professional relationships among members by facilitating collaboration and exchange."

Within this section of the NAREA website, you will find the E-Newsletter page, with current and past issues of the monthly NAREA E-Newsletter, which is sent to Reggio-inspired educators throughout North America; the NAREA Column page; the Innovations Periodical pages, which include information about Innovations in Early Education: The International Reggio Exchange, the official periodical of NAREA; and the Membership Coordinators pages, which include a listing of NAREA members who represent states and provinces throughout North America.

The NAREA board hopes that these resources support the ability of Reggio-inspired North American educators to establish dialogue with colleagues throughout the country in order to "promote and defend the rights of children, families, and educators of all cultures."
